Red Deer Lake School Engagement Session
It’s a long one today folks! There were just so many awesome components to Sam and Cody’s Engagement Session that I just had to share!
When Samantha first contacted me, she told me that her and Cody “are not a very lovey dovey couple and are more likely to throw water balloons at each other than wander aimlessly down a road holding hands.” So AWESOME! I’m always up for something a bit different – and since Samantha is a teacher, this one-room schoolhouse was the absolute perfect location for our session. While I think these two rocked out some nice romantic photos, we also had a BLAST playing with chalk, silly string, water guns, and water balloons. And basically just laughing the entire time. I mean, when I ask a guy to tickle his bride-to-be, I usually expect that it will prompt a little giggle and a natural smile. What I did not anticipate is that they would have a full out tickle war while rolling around on the ground! These two definitely commit to the moment, and we got some pretty awesome engagement photos because of it.
Sam and Cody brought along their little pup Bittie who supervised all our antics and just added to the cuteness factor.

Calgary Zoo Wedding Photographer
Andy and Stephanie are in some respects completely opposite of one another. She’s outgoing, he’s more reserved. She loves to bake, he loves to work out. What they share in common is their love for one another. Their love is deep and true, and it blesses all who know them. I was honoured to get to know these two over the past year and witness them exchange their wedding vows at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Cross.
After they officially became husband and wife, we headed down to The Calgary Zoo for photos and the reception at the Safari Lodge. We had a gorilla come check out the bride and pose for a few photos, and we just managed to escape the attack of a T-rex;)
Andy & Stephanie – It has been my pleasure to get to know you and be by your side on your wedding day. I hope you had a wonderful honeymoon in St Lucia, and I wish you every blessing as you begin your lives together.
When Andy proposed, he had all kinds of cheesecake for Stephanie as it’s her favourite dessert. So it was fitting (and delicious!) that they had cheesecake wedding favours that guests could dress up any way they liked!

Okanagan Engagement Photos
When Angie and Greg told me that they were going to be in the Okanagan Valley this summer, I jumped at the opportunity to photograph their engagement session in a beautiful orchard. Every time I go to BC, I fall in love with the green landscape, the warm sunshine, and the way the light illuminates every leaf on the cherry trees. What better setting could there be for a couple in love?
I loved watching these two together. They are playful and romantic, and love to make each other laugh.

Delta Lodge Kananaskis Wedding Photographer
Beki and Jesse met in school when they were both studying to be pilots. Beki didn’t want to fall in love, but it didn’t take long to fall for Jesse’s personality and quiet confidence. As Beki recalled in her wedding vows, when she finally let herself go, she fell hard and she fell fast. These two have travelled all over with their jobs, but on June 19, 2015, they vowed that they would forever be each other’s home. They said their vows at the incredible Delta Lodge at Kananaskis, with a view of the majestic Rocky Mountains. They were surrounded by family and friends, who all threw paper airplanes at them as they walked up the aisle as husband and wife.
Jesse & Beki – It’s been an honour to get to know you both this past year. You are incredible people and I am so thankful to have been there to witness the start of your lives together as husband and wife. Enjoy married life – and I hope you’re able to get away on a vacation soon!
