Calgary Engagement Photographer
It was like any other ordinary day. Stacey grabbed his keys and headed out the door. His dog was begging him to go for a walk, so they went down to the local dog park, where they saw a beautiful young lady named Elizabeth, who was also walking her dog. The dogs devised a plan to get these two together, and wrapped their leashes around the humans legs so that they fell into the pond together and the rest is history!
Well… at least that’s how I see it playing out in my head. Or maybe it’s just that I’ve watched Lady and the Tramp one too many times. But for real, these two just happened to meet each other one day when they were both out walking their dogs! They fell in love, had a beautiful baby girl (who is pretty much the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen), and are now about to be married!
Their engagement session got off to a great start by just laughing about the fact that there was a curse word graffitied in this abandoned shack (but you’d never know it if I hadn’t just told you – ah… the wonder of photoshop!), and ended with some sweet family photos with their little bean.

I had to get a few shots with this precious little girl before the end of the session. She has the most amazing head of hair and I could just eat those chubby baby cheeks!

Cochrane RancheHouse Wedding Photographer
JR & Christina met online and had their first date at LoungeBurger watching a Flames game. Christina is an avid Flames fan and she has told me that if JR hadn’t been one as well that she never would have dated him. They talked for hours on that first date, and their love for each other quickly surpassed Christina’s love of the Calgary Flames. Soon they were engaged on the beach in Mexico, with JR down on one knee telling Christina “There are more than 250,000 words in the English language, and that after two years together, I have yet to find the proper combination to tell you how much I love you. So, Christina Mary Hayward, will you give me the opportunity to try, for the rest of our lives?” Christina said yes before he could even finish his sentence, and they made it official on August 2nd, 2015 by exchanging vows and rings. And it was only fitting that these two had custom Calgary Flames jerseys made to use as their wedding guestbook.
JR & Christina’s wedding day was held at the Cochrane RancheHouse, which infused some country rustic charm into the elegant decor. The bridal party wore a palette of purple ombre which looked stunning against the green backdrop of the summer day. JR & Christina were treated with a sparkly reception put together by Erika of Calgary Wedding Planning Co. They even had a caricature artist come and create a one of a kind souvenir for all of their guests.
And just wait until you see their cake!
Christina and JR – it has been a pleasure getting to know you as you have planned your wedding and I wish you both a lifetime of wonderful memories. Thank you for including me in your day and I hope you have a magical Disney honeymoon!

Vintage Cochrane Ranche House Wedding

Katey and Dustin were married in a gorgeous ceremony overlooking the valley at the Cochrane Ranche House on July 31st. Katey looked so beautiful in her Stella York princess gown and infectious smile. I can only imagine how overwhelmed with love Dustin must have felt as he watched his bride walk down the aisle to meet him.
Their wedding had a vintage theme – filled with paper straws and penny candy, burlap bows and chocolate milk. We even got to use an incredible vintage couch for our photos – which not only served as a gorgeous prop, but also a much needed rest from standing all day!
Dustin and Katey – thank you so much for the opportunity to get to know you these past few months and for the honour of spending your wedding day with you. I was blessed to watch you serve one another throughout your day, and see how you love each other gently, and with kindness. I hope you have an amazing honeymoon!
The Ranche House in Cochrane was the perfect venue and is one of my favourite places to photograph a wedding. It has both an indoor and outdoor ceremony space, a beautiful dining room with lots of windows, as well as a lot of land for formal photographs without having to spend that precious time traveling around!
