JR & Christina met online and had their first date at LoungeBurger watching a Flames game. Christina is an avid Flames fan and she has told me that if JR hadn’t been one as well that she never would have dated him. They talked for hours on that first date, and their love for each other quickly surpassed Christina’s love of the Calgary Flames. Soon they were engaged on the beach in Mexico, with JR down on one knee telling Christina “There are more than 250,000 words in the English language, and that after two years together, I have yet to find the proper combination to tell you how much I love you. So, Christina Mary Hayward, will you give me the opportunity to try, for the rest of our lives?” Christina said yes before he could even finish his sentence, and they made it official on August 2nd, 2015 by exchanging vows and rings. And it was only fitting that these two had custom Calgary Flames jerseys made to use as their wedding guestbook.

JR & Christina’s wedding day was held at the Cochrane RancheHouse, which infused some country rustic charm into the elegant decor. The bridal party wore a palette of purple ombre which looked stunning against the green backdrop of the summer day. JR & Christina were treated with a sparkly reception put together by Erika of Calgary Wedding Planning Co. They even had a caricature artist come and create a one of a kind souvenir for all of their guests.

Christina and JR – it has been a pleasure getting to know you as you have planned your wedding and I wish you both a lifetime of wonderful memories. Thank you for including me in your day and I hope you have a magical Disney honeymoon!
