Bowness Scout Hall Wedding Photographer

What an absolutely beautiful, joy-filled day! We began the morning at Grace’s moms home, where she has the most incredible, “wild” backyard full of beautiful foliage and raspberry plants taller than me! We got to use this space for getting ready photos, which was something straight out of my dreams. We were instantly and warmly welcomed into this family’s space, and I felt like we were in our own little mystical world in the middle of the city.
Jordan and his guys got ready first, helping each other figure out suits and ties and pocket squares, and finally pinning on the most amazing, homemade, feather boutonnières before heading out to Confederation Park to set up chairs for the ceremony. Grace and her attendants then arrived at the house and did their makeup, had a relaxed lunch, and helped Grace get into her beautiful wedding dress.
Before the ceremony, they each hid on either side of a bush until it was time to walk down the aisle. Grace’s mom gave her away with love and tears, in a beautiful, emotional moment. Grace + Jordan said their vows to one another with so much love and authenticity that brought tears to my eyes.
Having the ceremony at such a beautiful place makes our photo time together so relaxed and fun. We walked around a bit with the bridal party, made some silly faces, and followed the beautiful summer light before making our way to Bowness Scout Hall for dinner. This venue is really light and bright, which perfectly complemented the minimalistic decor of geometric shapes, eucalyptus, and string lights.
The speeches were so meaningful, and the dances were filled with emotion. Grace danced with her mom and then her brothers joined in for a beautiful family dance. And watching Jordan dance with his mom was raw and humble; a moment I won’t soon forget.
Jordan + Grace – thank you both from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to capture this part of your love story. It has been my pleasure to know you both and I am truly blessed by seeing how you love each other. Much love, Carlin
