Glencoe Club Wedding Photographer | Arts Common Wedding
One of the hardest parts of photographing a wedding is writing the blog post. Not because I don’t have anything to say about the gorgeous weddings that I photograph, or about my brides and grooms, but because I could ramble on and on about how great they are because they’re just. that. awesome.
Seriously. How do I sum up a wedding – the bringing together of two lives, two families, into just a few short words? How can I describe how amazing it is that these families open up their homes and lives to me? How can I begin to describe just how caring and gracious my clients are to care about me and my wellbeing on their wedding day?
When people first learn that I am a wedding photographer, one of the most common questions I get asked is, “do you deal with a lot of bridezillas?”
And I laugh. Not because it’s true, but because nothing could be further from the truth.
Sarah & Warren are two of the most kind and thoughtful people that I have ever had the privilege of meeting. Their wedding day was filled with so much love and joy that it literally burst out of them and spilled into the beaming smiles you’ll see in their photos. I’m sure that their cheeks were hurting by the end of the night.
The look in Warren’s eyes as he watched Sarah walk down the aisle at the Engineered Air Theatre was one of pure admiration. They read their vows, the minister helped them freshen their breath, and they had their first kiss as husband and wife:)
We took photos in downtown Calgary, where we were stopped numerous times. A few people snapped pictures, one guy took a selfie with the bridal party, and a woman literally stopped in her tracks to tell Sarah that she was the most beautiful bride she had ever seen.
Warren & Sarah entered their reception at the Glencoe Club rocking out to Carly Rae Jepsen’s “I really like you.” The food was incredible, the speeches were hilarious and heartfelt, and the music kept the party going strong all night long.
Warren & Sarah – it was my absolute privilege and honour to spend your wedding day with you and document these memories. Thank you for trusting me and allowing me to tell your story!
Much love, Carlin
