I arrived at Chantelle’s room at the Delta South hotel to find her and her sister relaxing and eating a delicious breakfast. They were so relaxed and were having the best time just hanging out with each other and enjoying the day.
Pete and Chantelle chose to have an intimate first look at Fish Creek Park before the ceremony. Just as Pete turned around to see his beautiful bride, in perfect timing, the wind picked up and showered them with gorgeous autumn leaves. Pete exclaimed “I never cry!” as he wiped his misty eyes and his face lit up with joy. As we were taking a few photos, I told Pete that his bride was absolutely stunning. His response? “I know! I don’t think she knows! We better get to the ceremony and seal this thing before she realizes!”
At the ceremony, Pete stood at the front and twiddled his thumbs in eager anticipation of finally tying the knot with his love. Pete & Chantelle recited their vows, exchanged solid walnut wooden rings (that Pete MADE himself!), symbolically merged their lives in a sand ceremony, and sealed it with a kiss.
The guests were greeted at their reception with a handmade wooden seating chart (again… Pete’s got mad skills), and the bride and groom joined their guests for cocktails before dinner. The evening was full of laughter, friendship and, dancing, and I was honoured to have been there to capture it.
Chantelle & Pete – you two have quickly become some of my favourite people. You both have such kind hearts and an awesome sense of humour;) Thank you for trusting me with these precious memories, and I hope that you enjoy reliving your incredible wedding day! Much love, Carlin
