Calgary Wedding Photographer – Brad & Kelci’s Confederation Park Engagement

This engagement session is filled with so much meaning, it makes me so happy! First off, this bench that Brad and Kelci are sitting on in the first 2 photos is the exact place where Brad proposed a few short weeks ago. He had planned out an amazing date at Confederation Park, where they looked at a map of Calgary and wrote down their favourite memories together next to each of the significant places. Confederation Park was on the map, and even though they had never been on a date there before, it was about to become a very significant spot. Next to the park on the map, Brad began to write – Will You Marry Me? and Kelci hugged Brad so tightly that he had to peel her off himself so he could actually get down on one knee and give her a beautiful diamond engagement ring.

And later we headed down to Crescent Hill, where these two had gone before on a date and had their first kiss! These two are so perfectly suited for one another and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next summer. Congratulations Brad & Kelci!

Kananaskis Engagement Photos

“Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite.”

Jess had always wanted to get engaged at Christmas time, but she and Darcy had just moved into a new house and she didn’t think that it was going to happen right away. But Darcy surprised her with a gorgeous, sparkly, engagement ring on the Christmas tree in their new home. So it was only fitting that we started out their engagement session at home, where their walls are filled with love quotes and photos of their life together. It was a gorgeous day, and then we drove out to Kananaskis, where the skies got darker and the rain started to pour. These two didn’t complain though – they enjoyed their snuggles and kisses in the rain and then we met again a few days later to bask in the warmth of the autumn sun.

Darcy & Jess are so natural together and are having a great time together planning and dreaming about their wedding in Cochrane next summer.

Congratulations Darcy & Jess! Thanks for spending a fun couple of evenings with me!

Canmore Nordic Centre Wedding

It was a beautiful September day in Canmore. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and you could feel the anticipation in the air. Elizabeth and Stacey were about to be married, and their unmistakeable joy and love for one another was evident to everyone present. Their baby girl was pulled down the aisle by her cousin in a little wagon, and then Elizabeth walked with her dad, arm in arm down the aisle toward her groom. Just wait till you see the photos of Stacey as he receives his bride at the altar. They have made me smile so many times as I’ve worked on these photos, and I know it will make you smile too.

After they were announced as husband and wife, they joyously greeted their guests with a toast of champagne. They celebrated the day away with so much love and laughter and I was so blessed to have been a part of it.

Elizabeth and Stacey – thank you for inviting me into your most special day. You both are such kind hearts and made my job so enjoyable. I wish you and your little family an amazing life together and I hope that our paths will cross again soon!

Hamptons Golf Club Wedding Photographer

You would think that planning a Calgary wedding in August would mean automatic sunshine and a perfect 28 degrees – but this summer was pretty wonky.

So far, in my 8 years of photographing weddings, I’ve gotten pretty lucky when it comes to the rain. I’ve seen the groom’s family drying off chairs with a leaf blower, and brides that wear rain boots, but have never had a ceremony be moved inside. And that record held true for this rainy day wedding. After a morning of storms, the rain held off just enough to have the ceremony and formal bridal photos outside.

These two have so much love for each other, and I’m so honoured to have been there to witness and capture their love on their wedding day!

Grassi Lakes Photographer

This is my big brother, Jordan, and his lovely wife Kristine! They didn’t have any formal portraits taken when they got married so we decided to do a bit of an anniversary/family session out at Grassi Lakes in Canmore. It was our first time there, and I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that the hike only took 5 minutes, so we decided to pack all the kids in their strollers and make our way. We started out hiking up the “easy” route, for 5, 10, 15 minutes, and every time we reached the top of a hill we thought we were there.

Nope. More like 45 minutes later… this…
